Greywolfe’s 15 Games To Look Forward to in 2020.

Warning! There are MANY LINKS ahead. They will open in separate pages.

Well, it’s certainly been a while, hasn’t it? The last post I made here was several years ago now, and that’s pretty bad. It means I haven’t been writing about games and gaming and movies and music and all that nonsense for two [and a bit] years!

We-ll, it’s time to rectify that.

Let’s Slow Down Just a Moment on This Diablo 4 Announcement

I'll admit up front that I used to be a bit of a Blizzard fan boy. All the way back with The Lost Vikings, Warcraft, Warcraft 2, Starcraft and so on this is a game company that constantly kept me and my friends entertained. At the very tail end of 1996, then Blizzard North, introduced Diablo, and it very quickly became an obsession. Diablo was a game changer, a true original. The first of it's kind hack-n-slash dungeon crawler that 'spawned' (see what I did there?), an entire genre. Read more

Space Marine is Still Awesome – Replay Review From Scroo

Eight years ago in ages long past, the year of the Emperor 2011, came a grim dark shooter from Relic, THQ and Games Workshop about an event that takes place 38,000 years into the future. A third person action shooter where the greenskin Ork xenos have overrun the Forge World of Graia and threaten the existence of one of the great manufactorums of the empire. Untold millions of the Emperor's children are already dead. The Imperial Guard are outnumbered and outgunned. They have themselves suffered great losses including their senior commanding officer and are lead now only by a second lieutenant named, Mira Nero. If it wasn't for the great War Titan, Invictus, the empire of man may just cut their losses and abandon Graia. But the honored war machine's value is deemed absolute and it is decided that a small team of Astartes will be deployed to recover and secure the Titan at all costs. Captain Titus, of the Ultramarines, along with two of his trusted battle brothers are set upon the task and dropped into the middle of the fray. What comes is a battle of epic size, betrayal and bureaucracy along side more of a threat than even they imagined.

Gather round children and I shall tell you of my most recent play through of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Read more

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw – Reaching For a Red Star

When I played the first Rebel Galaxy I really enjoyed it. The big capital ships and the cool naval style combat, even the lack of a "Z" axis was cool because of how the game played. Even though it was a 2D plane it still felt big and open and limitless. In fact I always meant to write about it here. I even started at one point but I never finished and since then, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw has been released and... wow what a great space combat game. Double Damage is a team of something like five people and what they've managed to accomplish is one of the best full 3D space games I've played in a long time. Stick with me and I'll tell you about my experience. Read more

I Finally Played Darksiders 3

You guys probably know that I'm a fan of the Darksiders series from my previous reviews here, both of Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition and the Darksiders: Warmastered Edition. The third iteration has been around close to a year now and it wasn't very well received at launch. I even let the thoughts of others influence my decision not to buy it at that point. That's not generally something I do. Regardless, I waited and with the recent Steam Summer Sale reducing it's price to $20.00, I finally pulled the trigger, (Strife Joke), and picked it up. Here are my thoughts. And be warned, there will probably be some spoilers. Read more

Rage 2 – I Suppose So – A Review From Scroo

So I'm actually one of the rare few who actually liked the first Rage. It had it's issues, yes, but it still told an okay story and had a fairly cool premise. When I saw Rage 2 in the works I was kind of excited. I tried not to get too hyped but it stayed with me and I picked it up very quickly after release. I decided I'd make a first impression video for the LP channel and it's since turned into more of an opinion, or postmortem video. Keep an eye on the channel if you're interested in seeing it. It may still be a little while before it goes up. As for this written review, stay with me and I'll tell you my thoughts on Rage 2. Read more

Scroo’s Completed #4if

Well...

...I thought I had picked the right set of games to fix this #4if's wagon. But it got the better of me anyway. In retrospect I should have probably played in a different order than I did. But you know, I still made great progress and three out of four is nothing to sneeze at. This year's challenge was, in all likelyhood, perfectly reasonable to complete. However with the release of Apex Legends at the beginning of the month... Well lets just say that I spent a lot more time in there than I should have in order to get a #4if win this year. Am I disappointed in myself? One word - No I'm not, I certainly feel like I did pretty well all things considered. I have a life after all! get off my back Gary!

Check out how I did below. Read more

Doom 2016, Almost Three Years On

One of the first things I wanted to do when I got my new high refresh rate Freesync monitor set up was play something I knew ran really smoothly to begin with in order to really feel the difference from a 1080p, 60 hertz, non adaptive sync panel and the new 144 hertz screen at 1440p. So I reinstalled Doom. At first of course I was pretty blown away by the glassy smoothness at high frame rates, but I was also reminded -Doom is friggin awesome. Read more

Twinstiq Staff Picks for their Top Games of 2018

Hey everybody it's me, Scrooloose and the rest of us here at Twinstiq. How's it going? Good? You want a soda? No? Would you settle for a slap-dash list of games we liked from last year (and some prior) written in no particular order, some ranked and some not, hastily put together and edited in collaboration over the last few days with no real format? Yeah, we thought you'd like that. Read more
