New PlayStation Store Releases: The Elder Scrolls Online

This week, the new releases are a bit sparse on the PlayStation Store. Though they do have a couple of heavy hitters. Namely, The Elder Scrolls Online and Gradius. As much as I appreciate Bethesda bringing The Elder Scrolls universe to the PlayStation 4, I think I would rather see them provide us with an Oblivion/Skyrim collection (and make them playable on a Sony console for once). Maybe they could throw in an HD remaster of Morrowind to sweeten the deal.I am pleased to see a great arcade classic like Gradius hit the store. In addition to last week's release of Renegade, along with Q*bert, which has been on there for several months now, the PS4 is starting to become quite a little retro arcade machine. ESO and Gradius aside, the only other notable release this week is a Japanese dungeon crawler for the Vita. Create your character, select your class, and then venture past the break to see this list of new releases.

New Steam Store Releases: Massive Chalice

This week, Double Fine drops a massive deuce (sorry, couldn't resist) onto the Steam Store with their second Kickstarter game, Massive Chalice. I actually don't know much about this game, but since it was made by Double Fine, I will be cautiously optimistic. Also out this week, a great-looking arcade shmup called XIIZeal, a pipe puzzler from the Mighty Switch Force series, and the highly controversial twin-stick shooter, Hatred (from the appropriately-named developer, Destructive Creations). Make a big splash and then venture out past the break to see more of this week's new releases.
  • Massive Chalice (Double Fine Productions, Single-player, $19.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • XIIZeal (Triangle Service, Single-player & Co-op, $11.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)

New Harvest Moon Coming to PC!

Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories was announced this week on the Natsume Inc. Twitter, but that isn't the most interesting piece of news in that tweet. No, the most interesting thing is that the game will be coming to Wii U, iOS, Android, and PC! Hit the break to hear my thoughts on this most intriguing of news pieces.
Now that all the posers have left and it's just us good friends, I have a confession: I freakin love me some Harvest Moon! There is something about the simplistic farming and NPC interaction that draws me in like magnet. It's the same reason I played Minecraft, because I used it as a farming simulator. Sadly, it was lacking in that respect and so it didn't stay in the rotation long.I've been waiting for what seems forever for a  PC version of Harvest Moon, a reason I found Wild Season to have such potential. Now it looks like we'll be getting a proper PC game out of the deal, but the announcement of iOS and Android as well has me worried. Will it be a terrible cash store bananza? I hope not, and the fact that it's on the WiiU as well gives me hope that it'll be a true sequel, but only time will tell.

What do you think of this announcement? Are you excited? Do you not care? Are you already playing your old Harvest Moon games because the addiction is back in full? Let us know in the comments below or shoot me a tweet @Amuntoth.

New Nintendo eShop Releases: Lord of Magna

After last month's spectacular Mega May on the Nintendo eShop, it's not surprising to see things slow down a little. This week, there isn't a whole lot to choose from. The one title that does look interesting is a turn-based JRPG for the 3DS. The game is called Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven. You can read more about it here, or by clicking the link to the Nintendo page for it below. Also out this week is the Angry Video Game Nerd...game (for the 3DS as well), and a Pac-Man puzzle game for the Wii U Super Nintendo Virtual Console. Wait for your turn, select your target, and then  jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases.

PlanetSide 2 Drops On PS4 June 23rd

More than 2 years after the PC release, PlanetSide 2 finally comes to the PS4.  It will launch on June 23rd, so make sure to fill up your friends list until then. The MMO shooter can be quite fun alone, but it really shines when you get together with 500 of your closest friends to tear shit up.
Despite it being an online only shooter, PS+ will not be required for the free to play title, and if you are already familiar with PlanetSide 2 on the PC, then Andy Sited, Director of Development, has this for you: “We’ve also incorporated some unique features that are currently exclusive to the PS4 version, which for example, include the new battle map, Koltyr.”

Are you looking forward to PlanetSide2? Would you like to see a Twinstiq Squad when this game launches? Tell us in the comments.

New PlayStation Store Releases: Skulls of the Shogun

Skulls of the Shogun hits the PS4 this week. I never actually got around to playing it on any other platforms, but according to Wikipedia, "The game is inspired by Advance Wars and features turn-based combat between undead samurai." That sounds good enough to me. I'll have to make it a point to check that out soon. Also new this week is a port of the grand-daddy of all arcade beat-em-ups, a triple cross buy Zuma/Luxor clone, and an award-winning prison break simulation. Battle for the afterlife and then jump past the break to see the complete list of new releases.

LEGO Worlds Now Available On Steam

LEGO Worlds is the next high caliber release on Steam Early Access. Looks like this might become a trend for non indies now. But what exactly is LEGO Worlds?
From the description it sounds a lot like Minecraft. Exploring, building, procedurally created worlds and blocky (or should we say bricky?) graphics. No crafting though from the looks of it.

New Steam Store Releases: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R

This week saw a ridiculous number of new games hit the Steam Store. The stand-out, in my opinion, is Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (yes, the title is a bit absurd, but the game itself is glorious). If you're a fan of arcade games or fighting games (or arcade fighting games), I would recommend picking it up without hesitation.Accent Core Plus R represents the last of several updates to Guilty Gear XX. As such, it is the last in the Guilty Gear series (probably) to feature hand drawn sprites, as well as the last to be displayed in standard 4:3 aspect ratio (although you can't stretch the image to widescreen, you can disable the sidebar art). Also out this week, a previously PlayStation-only JRPG, a previously PlayStation-only Japanese Beat 'Em Up with a clothes-stripping twist, a previously mobile-only Game-of-the-Year award winner, and many others. Destroy your opponent and then jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases.

  • Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (Arc System Works, Single & Multi-player, $14.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 (Idea Factory, Single-player, $29.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed (Acquire, Single-player, $29.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Badland (Frogmind, Single-player & Co-op, $9.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Bladestorm: Nightmare (Koei Tecmo, Single-player & Co-op, $59.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Magicka 2 (Paradox Interactive, Single & Multi-player, $14.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • A Bastard's Tale (No Pest Productions, Single-player, $4.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Magnetic: Cage Closed (Guru Games, Single-player, $14.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Audiosurf 2 (Dylan Fitterer, Single-player & Co-op, $14.99) (Controller Support)
  • Catlateral Damage (Chris Chung, Single-player, $9.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Flame Over (Laughing Jackal, Single-player, $11.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • The Next Penelope (Aurelien Regard, Single & Multi-player, $12.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)

New Nintendo eShop Releases: Splatoon, Mega May (Finale)

This week sees the launch of Nintendo's first online multiplayer third-person shooter. And it's kid-friendly, no less! Color me intrigued (pardon the pun). Although, from what I hear, the game isn't compatible with the Pro Controller. Which seems a bit ridiculous, if you ask me. Also this week, Mega May comes to a close with the release of not one, but three Mega Man games! Well, two really, if you count Red Sun and Blue Moon as the same game (which they essentially are). Still, the surprise addition of Mega Man Zero 3 is not a bad way to wrap things up. Now, go fill your Super Soakers with paint and then jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases.

New PlayStation Store Releases: Ultra Street Fighter IV

This week, Ryu and company are finally entering the Wii U/PS4/Xbox One fray with the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV on the PlayStation Store. So far, it seems that the PS4 will be the only one of the three to feature current or future Street Fighter games. A great success for Sony and a glaring omission for Nintendo and Microsoft. In addition to containing all the DLC for the game up to this point, Ultra IV is reported to run 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, and also includes support for PS3 fight sticks. Not a bad deal for 25 smackers (though there are reports of one or two issues that may need to be ironed out). Also new this week, a mobile game turned PlayStation triple cross buy, the sequel to a PC-only fantasy action game, and Mega May has apparently spilled over to the PlayStation Store with the release of the PS One classic, Mega Man 8. Pull off your super combo finish and then jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases.
