The new Zelda: Link's Awakening game is out, so is The Surge 2 and Borderlands 3 has been out for a bit now. Then there's Code Vein and Steam now has Destiny 2 as a free to play title on the store front. I haven't played any of these games. It's probably worth checking them all out. Maybe not Destiny 2 since it's free to play now and they were already nickel and diming folks to death, can't imagine what has to be purchased now. Maybe it's relatively similar and you just have to buy any expansions packs you want to play. I dunno.

I'll tell you what I do know though. THQ Nordic has a big Steam sale this weekend with titles up to 90% off. The entire Darksiders franchise is less than $30.00. The Red Faction collection of games, though a bit generic, are fun and $12.00. Battle Chasers is less than $8.00, Elex is under $17.00, Wreckfest is $15.99 and so on. Fade to Silence is up for half off and I think I'll probably get it. I remember wanting that a while back.

And if you haven't got around to it yet, make sure you pick up your free games on Epic Games Store. This week is Metro 2033 Redux and Everything. The Metro games are all pretty awesome post-apocalyptic shooters. If you're into that and you've never checked them out this the time to try an optimized version of the first game. Everything looks like a nice little zen sim experience where you can inhabit and become everything in the universe. Animals, bugs, sand, trees, clouds, even entire galaxies. Might be something worth checking out.

In other news... Probably totally a rumor and something I shouldn't post about here, so don't lend this too much credence. There's some talk of the Ryzen 4000 CPU's running 4 threads per core when they come around. If that's true it will double the current multi-thread workload from two threads per core. So your current 8 core 16 thread would end up being 8 core 32 thread. Anyway, just something I ran across. Maybe not even true. I'll try to keep an eye out for more on it.

So WTF Anyway?

AJ: More Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Road Rash (and maybe Gears).

Greywolfe: 73% of the way through spyro 2.  it just did a thing that i don't like in old games:  it introduced a chest that looks like a new kind of chest, but didn't explain what i needed to do to open it.  the internet tells me "come back to it later."  thank god for the internet.  almost done with all of the escapes you can do in kyrandia 3 and am going to be heading back to the game, proper, as a result after that.  i also just wrapped up a chapter of etherlords 2.  just two more and then i can put that game to bed for a year.  [because i'm playing it super slowly.] - otherwise:  more stats to raise to 400 in quest for glory.  then i can get back to the main game.  and that's me for the next week or so [and the weekend, of course.]

Yoda: Probably some more Warframe, Also might end up being more of board game weekend with Dnd, Gloomhaven and other stuff and such

Scroo: I'm going through Space Hulk: Deathwing again because I'm kind of still on a Warhammer 40k, kick. I think I'll probably pick up The Surge 2 either this weekend or early next week. I'm not entirely sure I want to play a 'Souls-like' at the moment though so I may end up waiting a bit. I've also been playing through Gears 5 again on a higher difficulty, though I'm not being very consistent with that.

Tru: More of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, as I've almost 100% it. I'll then shift back to finishing up Astral Chain. I've been playing a lot of Smash Brothers Ultimate with my students during their lunch time. Awesome to get kids to come together with a passion for gaming. I've also been thinking about getting back to God of War and doing a new Playthough.
