FIFA 16 Includes Women’s National Teams (and a small shitstorm)

Big changes are coming to the very popular FIFA series from EA. No, you won’t be able to play as a corrupt official, but how about some Boob-physics!?
See EA, that’s how you advertise the inclusion of Women’s National Teams in FIFA 16. I doubt you would have received as much hate as you did, if you would have just told everyone: We are working on the most realistic portrayal of breasts in a sports game ever. We will have big breasts, small breasts, firm breasts, hanging breasts, black breasts, white breasts, different sized breasts, man breasts, female breasts and more.

Which hate you ask? Even though this thing only just got announced, some people are already complaining about the inclusion of women’s football. Who are those people? Don’t know, don’t care. Thing is: gender debate and video games don’t mix well at the moment. (Did they ever?) All one big pot of piss. So EA being “brave” enough to finally include women into their sports franchises is something worth applauding for.

However, if you are listening EA, this alone won’t fix the FIFA series. I ran into the same save game breaking bug in both FIFA 13 and 14. It’s probably in 15 too, since this franchise is basically 6 or 7 year old code that only gets updated for each release. The series has so many broken features, mechanics, bugs and what not, that the simple inclusion of women won’t make me buy it.
So you can shout misogynist all you want Mr. Moore, but from what I’ve seen, most people complaining about the inclusion of female teams, do base this on a valid point: Fix your broken game.

Xbox One Controller May Get 3.5mm Jack

The Xbox One controller may be getting one of my favorite features from any controller ever, a built-in headphone jack. Then again, maybe not. Hit the jump for more information.

Images are from my tablet and laptop.
Earlier today, this page on Xbox.com's support area showed a 3.5mm headphone jack as part of the Xbox One controller. It may have been a misprint, or perhaps a diagram meant for Microsoft's rumored-to-be-upcoming "hard core controller" for their latest home console.

Either way, the page later updated with this diagram, omitting #16 entirely, but leaving the image the same.Would you like to see this feature included? Are you happy enough using a converter cable or compatible headset?

New PlayStation Store Releases: Ultra Street Fighter IV

This week, Ryu and company are finally entering the Wii U/PS4/Xbox One fray with the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV on the PlayStation Store. So far, it seems that the PS4 will be the only one of the three to feature current or future Street Fighter games. A great success for Sony and a glaring omission for Nintendo and Microsoft. In addition to containing all the DLC for the game up to this point, Ultra IV is reported to run 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, and also includes support for PS3 fight sticks. Not a bad deal for 25 smackers (though there are reports of one or two issues that may need to be ironed out). Also new this week, a mobile game turned PlayStation triple cross buy, the sequel to a PC-only fantasy action game, and Mega May has apparently spilled over to the PlayStation Store with the release of the PS One classic, Mega Man 8. Pull off your super combo finish and then jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 Launches on PS4

With glitches annoying the hard core crowd, and input lag ruining everyone's fun, it seems like the PS4 launch of Street Fighter 4 is off to a rough start. More after the break!
A while ago, Capcom was quoted, saying "A few of you hardcore Street Fighters out there said that there was minor input lag in the controls of Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS3. Well, don’t worry: we’ve eliminated it to make the PS4 edition the ultimate version on any platform, so it’ll be good to go for all your tournament needs!"Unfortunately, this claim hasn't come to fruition.  There have been other glitches found on the PS4 version, ruining online play for certain tournament level players. There are also sound, visual, PSN, and other bugs that need to be worked out.

Capcom has yet to issue a statement, hopefully these issues will be addressed soon!

Dragon Quest VIII Screenshots

Looking faithful to the PS2 version, these new screenshots showing off the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII should help build up hype for a portable version of the traditional JRPG. As we previously reported, no western date has been set and 3D is not supported.
Here are Square Enix's screenshots of the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII, showing off the existing content as well as new side quests "Dhoulmagus' Past" and "The Hero's Childhood."

Halo 3: ODST Still in Testing

There are rumors circulating saying that the Halo ODST add-on for the Master Chief Collection will be released this Friday. The official Halo Twitter account has updated, stating that this may not be the case. Hit the jump to check out what happened.
Never originally intended, the development of a HD remaster of ODST was never intended, and was spurred by the reaction to the Collection's problematic launch. It's completely necessary for the add-on to provide a smooth experience. It's not impossible that a protracted development cycle may have eclipsed a projected launch date entered much earlier on.I'm sure ODST will be out soon so Microsoft can start turning focus toward Halo 5 at E3.

Telltale Telling Tales on Gog Galaxy

Hello adventure game fans, I've got some great news! Several Telltale series are coming to Gog.com very soon, and they're going to have Galaxy support. What does all that mean? Which games? Continue past the break to find out.
The Game of Thrones series is already launched on Gog.com, with The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands, and The Walking Dead to follow shortly afterward. As in the above image, they're coming with Gog Galaxy support, which means Achievements, tracking of game time (As a reviewer I love this), and optional auto-updates (as a player this makes me very happy). All in all this is a very exciting announcement for adventure game fans, especially those that may be on the fence about buying into the Steam ecosystem. So what do you think of this news? Interesting? Have you already bought and played these games on Steam? Thoughts on Gog Galaxy? Just let us know what's on your mind in the comments section below.

Project CARS WiiU might become Project CARS NX

Are you looking forward to Project CARS? I guess that means you are a WiiU owner, because every other platform already saw it released. Bad news, buddy. Looks like the game might not see a release on the WiiU after all.
According to Slightly Mad Studios boss Ian Bell, the game is currently running at 23ftps/720p on the WiiU. "Honestly, unless we really cut the looks back I think we're looking to Nintendo's next console."

So the NX then? There are 2 issues with that. The first and obvious one: We don’t know squat about the NX, and according to Bell, neither does Slightly Mad. What if it’s a Popcorn making machine? I don’t want to play Project CARS to the sound of pop…pop…popop….…pop.
The second one, also the most pressing one: The game was crowdfunded and the WiiU version was promised during that process. So it’s back to the old crowdfunding discussion.

Bell also mentions that they could make it run at 30fps, but he fears that halfway through them finishing the port, Nintendo might announce a new console. If they could be early to release on it, they would clearly be the best driving sim for a while.

Personally, I don’t see a WiiU port of Project CARS as something worthwhile in the first place. Playing the game with anything other than a racing wheel is far from fun, and the WiiU doesn’t offer one. And at least they don’t just release a half-assed copy like Ubisoft (remember Watch Dogs WiiU?)
