On With the WRUP

Well, it seems to be about that time again to find out what we're all playing and talk about some pseudo-random topics. It's a beautiful Saturday morning and I'm not sure I have a lot planned for the day. Frankly that's okay, it's been a weird week and I would like to have some time for things to normalize. I might even actually get a start on the front end rebuild I have to for my truck this weekend while the weather is still warm. Anyway, let's see what's happening.

It looks like CDPR is taking some resources off of Cyberpunk 2077 support to both work on other projects and finally get a start on making the first CP2077 expansion. This could mean, of course, that CP2077's many bugs will take longer to squash, but the game is actually in a pretty positive place these days -at least according to player reviews. My own personal experience with Cyberpunk 2077 was quite good. I only saw a few bugs and only was bad enough to be potentially game breaking, and even at that it would have been temporary. I don't think I remember any game crashes at all and I had a great time in Night City. In any case, the move from CDPR doesn't bode the end of CP2077 support, it just means they're feeling ready to work on the expac. Here's some info from IGN

If you're interested in the first Titanfall title, you'd best get to it. EA is planning to remove it permanently from digital store fronts next March. I never played the first Titanfall but it lead the way for a sequel and the popular battle royale, Apex Legends which is set in the same universe. I happened to really enjoy the sequel to Titanfall. In fact, I still consider it to be one of the best single player shooter campaigns I've ever gone through. Kotaku has the word on the coming loss of the predecessor

Speaking of older games with some issues but happened to be pretty damned good - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is getting an all new expansion and its happening soon. "Fatesworn" is the name of the new content and it's going to show up as per PC Gamer, "...in less than two weeks...". THQ Nordic is now the license holder of the former 38 Studios title and re-released Amalur as a remaster. The expansion will pop up for $20 USD. PC Gamer's article

What are we playing?

Yoda: Everyone should download "Century: Age of Ashes" its a pvp dog-fighting game. Where you ride dragons. So there's my weekend and maybe every weekend for the rest of my life. Oh its also free.

Greywolfe: well, i slacked off on greedfall all week long. so maybe that? but also final fantasy 2 and the lurking horror. i've finished up in the dreadnought in final fantasy 2, so the world opened up A LOT [because i got a boat.] - so i can roam around and explore, which i intend to do. the lurking horror is...a mixed bag? there's definitely some scary stuff in there, but there's also some silly stuff too. we'll see. maybe i'll make it all the way through the game.

AJ: Well, last weekend I did hit up that retro video game store again and came home with a great looking copy of Darius Gaiden for the Saturn. So I'll probably play that a bit, and I may hit up the store one more time as there are a few more titles I've been eyeing and I've got a few of my own I was looking to trade in.

Scrooloose: Deep Rock Galactic is on the agenda as usual. I finally got Back 4 Blood as it was on sale so I'll be giving that a shot, and I reinstalled Sniper Elite 4 to run through the campaign again.

Tru: I'm in the last two weeks of the fall semester for my school. So lots of grading and planning for finals. However, I would like to jump more into The Medium. I picked it up for PS5 and I have to admit that it feels like a classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill right now, I'm having fun with it. Besides that I have a few more games to try out: Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Judgement, Death Loop... I also really wanna play more Metroid: Dread. It's just about having time to do so, lucky for me Winter Break is fast coming.
