Heckin’ WRUP

Well, we did it. We made it to the new year and the world didn't even explode, yet. Seems like we're on the way though.

Ubisoft has a new Prince of Persia title set to release in the 18th of this very month of January. Maybe this is exciting to you, perhaps it isn't. I'm not sure I care that much but I do really like the addition of a map feature that truly seems like something that should have been around for a while now. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, has a feature that allows a player to take a screenshot of an area and place that "memory shard" on the map. This can be done anywhere, but it seems like it could be particularly useful for a currently inaccessible area that one may want to come back to later once some new equipment has been acquired. I have seen editable journals in the past, or a sort of tag system in games where a player could place a short note to come back to later, but this is a visual reminder that just uses a screenshot. Simple, and once you hover over your shard marker it shows you the screenshot taken from a perspective that is sure to give you a visual reminder of what it was you were doing there 20 hours ago. Seems cool to me.

Alright guys, I've basically taken my head out of the game this past week. There was a 13 year old who beat the OG Tetris on an actual classic NES system. Pretty awesome actually. But I'm going to call it here for this weekend so have a good one everybody. I'll be back with a hopefully more full plate next time.

We here hope you all had a great new year.

What we've been playing:

Greywolfe: sort of doodling around with saints row 2022.  i haven't quite got up and running with it yet, because i'm still getting my character into the clothes and cars that i like before actually tackling the game itself [so i don't have to worry about that part of it anymore.] - apart from that, i bought myself some games for christmas and one of those is roguebook.  been trying it a little bit.  it's not terrible.  i also found a card game on itch.io called card artisan and that's been a mostly fun little romp.  [it's a sts-like, but the twist is that you can /occasionally/ make your own cards.  the problem is, so can the ai, and it just routinely churns out busted cards with too much text and sometimes very swingy stats.]

AJ: Finally getting around to setting up my Xmas present, a shiny (actually it's more matte but you get the idea) new Xbox Series X! I'm hoping to try out some new-ish games on sale. Otherwise, it will likely just be redownloading and revisiting a good bit of my digital backlog from the previous Xbox generations.

Scrooloose: I've been in Dave the Diver and SnowRunner, but GhostRunner was free recently and I've been considering jumping on that one a bit.
