Get Your Hands On This WRUP

Hello there everyone and welcome to another pre-wrup greeting. I'm Scrooloose and it's early. I was hoping to sleep in but instead the early morning anxious "awoos" of a husky wolf dog that I live with had me making sure she could get outside before there was a cleanup on isle living room type incident. So here I sit with my coffee and WRUP list just after 6:30 in the morning, but I don't have weekend work to do so at least I can chill a bit today. For now though, let's look at some WRUP related items to whet your gaming whistles.

This year Steam turns 20. I still remember buying my Orange Box copy of Half Life 2 bewildered by the idea that I could have an online game library. How far we've come. Anyway, this Steam celebration is good news for folks who are interested in a Steam Deck as the three models have incurred a 20%, 15% and 10% discount for the 512, 256 and 64 GB decks respectively. The info comes from PC Gamer if you'd like a few more details and here's a link to the Steam Deck page if you're really feeling like taking a look for yourself.

If you're a Switch Owner you've probably noticed that you'll be getting a remaster for the beloved Luigi's Mansion 2. If this doesn't quite sound familiar that could be because you live(d) in Australia or Europe where the game was called Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, because Nintendo seems to like regional naming and always has. The teaser shows some of that sweet HD footage and you can expect to play it again in 2024.

Speaking of classics and weird names, how about Contra: Operation Galuga? Contra is a game from my childhood and I remember staying up with my friend Dan for hours and hours as we beat our heads against it until we finally won the game. It came out in 1987 and a mere 36 years later we may get to play again on Switch if I go visit Dan in Colorado. No problem. Consider it done. Here's a teaser for the new xenophobic directional pad nightmare itself. It's coming soon, probably.

Alright, well I guess I better get to booking a plane ticket and inform Dan I'm moving in until we beat Contra again. See you guys next weekend.

What in the actual dang heck are we playing?

AJ: Cotton 100% and Azure Striker Gunvolt 3.

Greywolfe: foretales is done! going to be playing some older games this weekend, starting with king's quest 4 and then maybe the neverhood after.

Scrooloose: I have begun Sniper Elite 5. I will be stealthing my way around WW2 France.
