Quick update: Life here is quite busy. Can’t tell you what we are doing, but folks are really nice! Food is also surprisingly good. I had expected lots of seafood, with us being underwater and supply deliveries only getting here once a month, but we get a surprising amount of meat and some sort of fruity vegetable.
I also met someone new. Can’t tell you her real name, so let’s just call her Melanie. Anyway, she arrived with the same group I did, so she’s just as excited to be here as I am. Some of the older members can get a bit grumpy at times, but she always has a smile on her face and a joke on her lips.
That’s pretty much all for today. Another praying session is coming up in about half an hour, after that it’s bed time.
Hope everyone is doing well! Until next week!
- Greywolfe (Twitter, YouTube): space quest 4 is done. i'm moving along to king's quest 6. in other news, i'm trying to plow through gateway. it is what it is. i will pick something else that, i hope, is more fun next game :P - hearthstone, magic: the gathering and spore are all i'm doing otherwise. [ie: things i can drop in and out of.]
- Thomas (Twitter): My head still feels funny
- Scrooloose: Been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and enjoying it overall. Really impressive looking game, has some silly issues that seem like they just slipped by the devs for some reason. But yeah it's fun, been cool exploring the world and seeing Lara continue to grow as a character. I pulled the trigger on some new hardware for the ol' compy that should be here this weekend. Looking forward to installing that and seeing the advantages. I'll also probably finally cave and get my Windows 10 installation done... blegh
- Matthew (Twitter): Sadly nothing. L This is a weekend with no time for gaming at all. I'll get my #4iF article in by Sunday. I've got a 7am tabletop game (playing Roll20 with friends in Australia and England I'm the monkey in the time zone middle) I've then got the gym at 2:30 (so like maybe an hour snooze then out the door and then a friend's birthday. Sunday I've got to do choers around the house and recover from Saturday. L
- Yoda0VGs (Twitter): I also just picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider this morning since it had a pretty decent sale. So I'll be checking out that as well as some SuperHot this weekend!
- Andrew (12/12 Games): Just picked up Yoshi's Woolly World on Wii U. So, I'll be playing that and also probably a little Castle Crashers.
This weekend is more Rise of the Tomb Raider for me. I’m also enjoying it a lot, but those optional tombs, while there are more of them, are much harder to find for me. Once I locate them they are as easy to complete as the last game. I just can hardly find ’em.
I’ve finished the story in Saint’s Row: Gat out of Hell, but I still have plenty of little activities to complete. I’ll probably still be playing around with that for a while. It’s not a deep title, nor as fleshed out as a full Saint’s Row release, but I’m enjoying my time with it. I also grabbed the Uncharted 4 beta again, and the Hitman beta on the PS4 so I’ll probably give those a whirl for a bit.
Thursday night I bought The Solus Project from GoG and I’m really interesting in giving this one a go. As I type this, it’s 12:55 in the morning and part of me wants to fire it up just for a few minutes (right), and part of me says it’s time for bed.
I hope your upgrade to Windows 10 goes smoothly, Scrooloose. Now that I’ve gotten some kinks worked out, I’m liking it quite a bit. It still seems to boot up just a little slower for me than 7 did, but not by any significant amount. Good luck!
Thanks I hope so too. I’ve already done a laptop that went smooth for one of my folks, so I’ve got an install disk burnt. But I think I’m gonna go ahead and do the download anyway just so I can make sure it recognizes it as an upgrade and not a new installation that requires a product key. Anywhoo here’s hoping.
Yeah I’m pretty happy with tomb Raider as well. I agree about the tombs, but I can say that you’ll find some before you’re able to access them so just keep exploring all the nooks and crannies and continue progress, you’ll just eventually find yourself inside one at times.
I’m currently trying to backtrack a little and see if I can get to some I left behind because I didn’t have explosives or guns at the time to enter. So far I’m finding them pretty simple to run through, but I’m enjoying the tomb designs much more than the 2013 game overall.
Do you if you can go back and pick up what you missed after the story is complete? That’s one of the things I really liked about the reboot. I like to keep the story flowing at first before I focus on tombs and collectibles.
No idea. I’m only about 50% through so far. The last one let you go back and I would assume this one does as well since it focuses a lot on collectibles.
New hardware came and I’m all giddy, too bad I have to wait til Monday for the full install though since my thermal compound won’t be here til then, boo.
By the way I did finish Tomb Raider and to confirm, yes you can go back and complete challenges, and search for tombs you may have missed.
