I've been away for a week and the first thing I see on the front page is a very awkward yet appealing gluteus maximus, otherwise known as a 'butt'. Loved the article by the way Grey. Alright let's start this wrap up right by talking about a game that is on sale on Steam that might be a decent buy if you're looking for something to waste time on or even if you're looking for a new 'scratch that itch' game.
If you haven't already picked up Darkest Dungeon it might be the time.
Darkest Dungeon is a challenging gothic rogue like turn-based RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring. Recruit, train, and lead a team of flawed heroes against unimaginable horrors, stress, famine, disease, and the ever-encroaching dark. Can you keep your heroes together when all hope is lost? - Steampage
Yes it is in early access, but this isn't one that's going to stay in early forever, from what I've read the game is close to release with only a few minor bumps to iron out. Also from the reviews being mostly positive I might actually snatch this one up too.
On a side note, I'd like to say that I've fallen to temptation. Yes, I, Tisnight have started playing Destiny. *Pauses as the audience screams in horror* Alright, calm down, it's actually not as bad as I was lead to believe but it's still not my cup of tea. Haven't been in a shooter mood as much I've been in a simulation mood, and that's where prison architect has been scratching my gaming itch.
But enough about me, what else is everyone playing?

Alright guys I'm outta here.

Still working my way to through MGV between sessions of FIFA 16 and messing with various betas (NFS, Star Wars, Fable, etc…).
I’ve just been treading water lately, waiting for my fall big hitters to drop. Messed around with restarting Dead Island, went collectible hunting in Sunset Overdrive, going through Valiant Hearts again, but now that the Battlefront beta is here that’s kind of taken over. I’ll go back to Valiant Hearts and possibly move on to the third chapter of Life is Strange, but shooting rebel/imperial scum in the face is always on my mind.
Metal Gear Online (MGO3) is inducing a love-hate relationship.
In my area, it seems to have a rather unsteady match-making set-up, such that I get disconnected at least 2-3 times before I can get into a round. So this can be up to 5 minutes before I start actually playing.
Once I’m in, it’s hit or miss, regardless of whether I’m starting from a full round or a partial round. Perhaps I’m indirectly helping my team to lose by not being aggressive from downtown (I’ve been trying to stay on the periphery and play the support role of camping spotter).
It’s funny…people keep saying that the mechanical walkers are easy to destroy or come from behind and incapacitate the driver, and yet, in many of the rounds that I’ve seen, the enemy team will simply be stomping my team with these things, as they flail unsuccessfully to do either of the above Maybe it’s pride or a twisted sense of honor, but unless both teams decide not to use them, or both to mutually use them, there will be an imbalance (it’s just easier to remove them from the online game via custom lobby settings, but…that doesn’t exist yet).
Another thing is the overpowered infiltrator class with stealth camo…easily a class spammed by 60-70% of the existing userbase. this class rocks an assault rifle and a camo that lasts for awhile (even when firing a gun or getting shot). So I’ll have these fools suddenly pop-up out of seemingly nowhere on night and bad weather levels and get knocked out and airlifted into the sky (and this is a frustration of alot of people not playing this class). Again, the defense steps in and says “well why don’t you pay attention to your radar or equip nvg”? Despite the fact that they’re not perfectly invisible, they’re still hard to see, even if it’s known they’re there, and equipping nvg costs weight and have limited battery, blah blah blah.
Anyhow, for all the moments that this online game has been an absolute frustrating pile of shit, it’s had its brief moments of redemption. There’s nothing more exhilarating than sneaking up on the person who’s been griefing you for a good portion of the round, knocking them out, and suddenly turning a losing round into a win (in MGO’s version of TDM, the score can have quick reversals by capturing enemy players with high bounties on their heads). There’s the semblance of being able to play a different role in this game besides just killing everything in sight (at least in theory…the game needs slightly longer rounds, aside from the other balancing issues just mentioned).
This sounds incredibly frustrating.
I opted to watch Bojack Horseman instead yesterday evening.
Oh man isn’t that a great show?
