Word up, as the kids say. It's the weekend and it's WRUP time. As usual lately I'm a little sort on time for WRUP writing so I'm just going to get right to it so I can get some breakfast and get on with the days business. Here we go.
I've been playing the new Lords of the Fallen title and man it's a super solid Dark Souls clone. I'm moving rather slowly through playing but I'm really loving it so far. The whole thing has me paying more attention to the genre in general again and that brings us to our first topic. Soon, Salt and Safcrifice, the souls-like side-scroller will be sold on Steam. How's that for a string of "S" words? Yes, the exclusivity timer is nearly up on EPIC Games Store which means more players will have the opportunity to play a sequel to one of the best 2D ARPGs around for a pretty dang affordable cost of $19.99. I played the first game, Salt and Sanctuary" a couple of years back and it was a very engrossing and satisfying experience. If you're interested in checking out S&S without making an Epic account, you can currently wishlist it on Steam. Release will happen on November 7th.
Spider Man 2 is up and people are saying mostly good things aside from the fact it feels short. I've yet to play and I may not, full disclosure, since I don't have a PS5, oh and I don't want to spend $70. Here's link to the PS Store though if you feel like looking for yourself. It contains so many teasers you probably don't have to buy the game and play anyway.
Rumors are starting about a Nintendo Switch 2. Of course Nintendo of America won't comment on that and we wouldn't expect them to. However if it is true I would expect a lot of "leaks" to begin well before the official announcement. Keeping with Nintendo of America: They don't have any unions there. Doug Bowser says that they would respect the decision to unionize along with saying a whole lot of buzz words about employee engagement and yadda yadda, we don't need unions though because people just love working here so much. Here's a word or two from IGN on that.
Okay that's it from me today everyone. Have a good weekend and again as the kids say - Get your game on. Very hip and cool, these kids.
What's happening?
Scrooloose: A little busy this weekend with a car show and some work, but I definitely will be in Lords of the Fallen in free time
Greywolfe: dragonsphere was very ok. it had a GREAT twist near the middle, but the writers couldn't really sustain that level of writing, so the ending was not at all surprising and kinda bland. now tackling ANOTHER super old whale: mindfighter. i BOUGHT this in 1987. [it's absolute trash] and didn't ever finish it. it's an old school text adventure where the directions don't make sense, the puzzles are terribly clued and the protagonist [an eleven year old gary stu] makes me want to scream. so we'll see how i manage.
