Hey everyone, happy Halloween weekend. Here's hoping you're all enjoying rather cool Saturday morning and will be chillin' like a villain, as the kids say, perhaps even starin' at the ceilin'.
Well you've probably seen them by now, but the spooky time sales are all going on for a little while longer. EPIC Games Halloween sale 2022, Steam Scream Fest, and GOG's Halloween sale 2022 to name a few for PC. GOG is even giving away Genesis Alpha One for 24 hours which from the look of things seems to be a pretty dang fun time. There's the Xbox Shocktober sale, Sony's PlayStation store Halloween sale, and Nintendo even has a bunch of deals for you console and handheld fellers. So if you're looking for something to play during this final October weekend or if you've got some money just burning a hole in your pocket then you have plenty of options. It may also be a good time to stack up some gaming gifts for a certain other major holiday coming up in a couple of months time. Though I'm sure said holiday will also have a broad sweeping sale for all platforms as well.
The release of The Callisto Protocol, a very exciting successor to Dead Space, is cancelled in Japan due to it's excessive level of violence and general grossness not being able to get by the censors at the CERO ratings board there. Those who have pre-ordered the game will be given refunds. Of course the cancellation could be temporary if the developer, Striking Distance Studios, does decide to tone some things down a bit for the region. As of now though that doesn't appear to be the plan. Polygon has more on the subject including the possible reasons it may not even be feasible to meet the censor requirements.
FromSoftware has pulled the plug on Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition from 2012 permanently. The online service for the classic ARPG will not be restored quoted FromSoftware - "...due to an aging system...". The good news is that Dark Souls remaster will come back online at some point and you can continue being invaded and having your ass kicked over and over by monsters. Here's a look from IGN

Scroo: I earned my Festival of the Lost title early in Destiny 2, now I'm just trying to figure out how best to complete the gilded title with just one triumph to finish. There are a couple prerecs that I'm not sure I can have completed before the time runs out next week, but that's my plan aside from work.
AJ: Ordyne! I also just picked up a physical copy of Bayonetta for the Switch. Additionally, I will likely be playing some Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on the DS and Ghouls 'n Ghosts on the Genesis since Halloween is nearly upon us.
