Feb[WRUP]ary

Oh, hello. I didn't see you there. You caught me writing a WRUP.

It's still #4if time and I think Greywolfe is really the only one doing it. I am, sort of. Not really four things for me but one fairly big one. I expect by the time this goes up I'll be closer and Grey will have finished his goals. Right now I have nothing but time, so I'll get down on it. Look at this cool PC case built like a shoe

Well if you're not playing Horizon Forbidden West, then you're like me because I also don't have it yet. I definitely want to get it even if it will be for my PS4 and there's no PC port because that would be just silly, don't be ridiculous. I've seen some really excellent opinions about it though and it would seem that the PS4 version won't run or look significantly worse than the PS5 version. Though I do hear it's install size is approximately two shit loads of drive space because of the added fully voiced language files. And if you haven't played Horizon Zero Dawn you absolutely should. It's one of the best open world RPG's out there and you'd be doing yourself and the world a disservice by ignoring further. Just keep in mind that it's price may have risen quite a bit.

If you're like me you're probably sort of chomping at the bit for the soon coming release of Elden Ring. This is why I've yet to buy Horizon Forbidden West. I just can't drop myself into two open world games that will entirely consume my very soul --so to speak. We here at Twinstiq don't recommend preordering your games but I'm guilty of it from time to time and I'm sure you are too. If you're looking to preorder your copy of Elden Ring through the Microsoft Store make you follow the steps to get some sweet MS points. PureXbox has a little PSA with instructions for you here.

That's pretty much all I have this week. Here's to a great weekend for all of you out there. Enjoy the completion of what has turned out to be a kind of controversial Olympics, if you're following along, and we'll see you next time. I'll leave you with this Horizon themed science video from Kyle Hill

Yoda: Well I started falling in love with Dota hero that's been around forever but I just never tried. So probably going to spend all weekend just playing Brewmaster game after Brewmaster game. Such a fun hero win or lose. If my brain can't take it anymore, Lost Ark has been super chill. So more of that.  Also, quick reading recommend. Mellisa McPhail's Pattern of Shadow and Light series. Really great slow burn read of the first book so far and her writing style is beautiful. That is all. Dota, Ark, book. Bewm.

Scrooloose: Still moving along in SnowRunner. I'm finally almost done with Amur, thank goodness. I just have a few of the high value quest line to finish up and then I can launch a rocket and spend some time towing trailers back to sell before moving on to season 5.

Greywolfe: i got done with never alone pretty quickly. the internet [ie: review sites] warned me that it would have a difficulty spike toward the end, but it wasn't too bad. in fact, i'd say that these folks absolutely understood their brief and executed on it quite well. it /does/ lose a couple of points for not signposting quite as well as it should have. [there was an impossible looking jump that the game literally had to explain to me with it's hints before i understood exactly what it wanted and how it should happen.] - so, i'm onto my fourth game in february and this is zojoi's "argonus and the gods of stone." it's just straight up an adventure game set in ancient greece. so far, it's great. but it /does/ suffer a little from zojoi's design inclinations [they are the reconstituted version of the folks who made shadowgate all those years ago, so...imagine some of that in this.] - i think i'm going to like it, but i hope that zojoi's particular brand of adventure gaming doesn't show up /too/ much or that might spoil it.
