All WRUP All WRUP All WRUP

Oh hello there everyone. It's the weekend and that means it's WRUP time.

It seems like this past week was the day of big patches for recent games. Callisto Protocol has a big 11 GB patch that fixed a lot of performance issues. In fact the stuttering is no longer a problem and even ray tracing performance is a bit better. Perhaps I can really pick it back up and not lose that ever important immersion in a horror game like this simply because I turned a corner. Though I have to say the performance was quite a bit better after that December 5th update as well.

Darktide got a 7.4 GB update that fixed a lot of bugs and added some new content and balance fixes along with two new weapons, one for the Ogryn and one for the Preacher, plus a new map and mission type.

The Witcher 3 had a gigantic 45 GB update (You may have to enter a birth date to enter that link) that brought the extremely popular RPG to the current generation. The update hasn't gone very well in terms of performance, I've seen it called "Cyberpunk level", but it adds just a boat load of new and interesting things to what was already a pretty beautiful title.

Finally, we're also seeing some review content for AMD's new GPU lineup as it stands now. The 7900 XTX seems to be a pretty heavy hitter while the 7900 X is sort of just fine for it's value. The XTX is supposed to stand against the 4080 and does so pretty dang well but at a better value point but it's still a thousand dollar GPU. The 7900 X is less money but quite a bit less performance so maybe not quite worth the performance loss at its price point yet. GamersNexus does a great job with this kind of review content so I'll link the videos they put up for the 7900 X and 7900 XTX. A rather comedic comparison of X's takes place with the XFX RX 7900 XTX coming out on top in terms of pure number of X's.

Okay. That's all from me this weekend. Enjoy your gaming everyone.

What are we playing?

AJ: Still loving (and playing) River City Girls so much that I decided to shell out for the sequel that just dropped. So I plan on playing River City Girls 2 quite a bit this weekend as well.

Scrooloose: Destiny 2's The Dawning event has been a fun time and I'm enjoying the new season content as well so far. Darktide has been keeping my grimdark power fantasy dreams alive and now that Callisto Protocol isn't a stuttering mess maybe I'll be able to get Josh Dhuamel a bit further into the horrible alien nightmare that he's so upset about in that game.
