All Sorts of WRUP

Welcome to a sports heavy February and this weeks WRUP. It's Bengals VS Rams for the Superbowl at Los Angeles this year. I haven't watched a spot of football during the season but I always watch the big event. Speaking of big events, the entire world is on stage for the Winter Olympics in Beijing. After a fairly lackluster opening ceremony last night I'm interested in seeing some cool snow sports. Of course there's plenty of tension between nations what with the current string between Russia and Ukraine being pulled so tight but hopefully world war three doesn't start while I'm watching bobsled. Or at all, in fact. That would be good also. I did read that Ukraine fired a warning missile. Not sure how that works but it doesn't sound awesome. Anyway, we aren't here to talk geopolitical struggle. Let's get to some topics.

To nobody's surprise, Sony is saying that the PC port of God Of War is a success. Here's a quick little blurb about it from DSOGaming. Adding to the good news is the fact that both God Of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are Steam Deck ready.

StarLink's warranty information is basically just not a warranty. It would probably be easier to say what it would cover, in fact because basically anything that could happen to it during normal use and being outside isn't covered. A list of items not covered by the warranty are as follows: Lightning, electrical surges, fires, floods, hail, windstorms, earthquakes, meteors, solar storms, dinosaurs or other forces of nature. Adding dinosaurs to the list almost seems like they know they're more or less setting up joke coverage for your expensive equipment. There's plenty more about this from WCCFTech

Alrght so I know this might seem lazy but I'm not going to try and explain much here, only say that AMD has it's Instinct M1200 GPU Linux support ready to go. If you're a Linux user then this may perk your ears. Or eyes, since you're reading and not listening... You get me. Here's more from WCCFTech that gives all the goods.

Okay, enough of that crap. What are we playing?

AJ: Well, I went by that retro games store again and found an authentic original Super Nintendo console that appeared to be in great shape and was reasonably priced, so I threw down some cash for it. I've owned the Analogue Super Nt for about 2 years now and have amassed a pretty respectable collection of SNES carts in that time but I've always wanted to own the real deal. Cross that one off the ol' bucket list! I also happened to get a Super Game Boy for it while I was there so my weekend is pretty well made!

Greywolfe: well, i finished up with cat quest ii and got it 100% done. cute little game. takes some good steps in a positive direction with definite upgrades to some of the systems. i like that they had a dog and cat protagonist in this one [an idea i hope they keep for cat quest 3] and while the combat is simple [much like the first], it's fine, since it's a game you can beat in about 8 hours. [less if you know what you're doing.] - i've since moved on to guacamelee! [i'm playing the super turbo championship edition.] - i love it's colourful style and beautiful music and the story's neat, too. what i think i'm worried about is that the combat is going to get dumb. i'm about half way through and they've already introduced a type of creature i detest [a guy with a shield that - in a game that requires constant motion - you have to STOP for, so you can hit it.] soooo...i'm a little worried about it.

Yoda: Dying Light 2 is downloading as we speak and I'm gnna jump over some Zombies this weekend

Scroo: Well, it's the same ol' for me I think. More SnowRunner and more game modes in For The King.
