Even though FFXIV has surpassed it at 2.5M subscribers (according to the last few frames of this video), FFXI's 1M is nothing to scoff at, and remains a steady revenue stream, according to Square Enix's 2014 annual investor report. It's hard to believe the game has been around almost 13 years!
