Fire up Steam any time between today and Friday, June second and you'll see the typical midweek madness sale. Normally this is the standard run of the mill, 'maybe something from my wishlist' sale but today it includes the very special, Witcher franchise.
Here's a link to all that sweet, sweet goodness
If you haven't played the Witcher games I encourage you to solve that problem and now's the time to do it. The first and second titles are a little over complicated but still excellent. It's the third iteration that really gets my vote in spades and the sale gives you The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition for $24.99. That includes the base game and -all- dlc content released to date. Which is in fact all of it because the franchise is finished now.
If you've already got that and by chance haven't played the first or second games they are also steeply discounted in price at $1.49 and $2.99 respectively. Seriously guys, now's the time to jump on that train. Just remember that these are very mature games so maybe not a good gift for the kiddies.
Check out my positively shameless self-plug for my Blood and Wine review here if you need a little more than this article as a recommendation.
Oh, and there's some other stuff on sale too:
Fair warning, some of these links are going to ask for an age confirmation.
Just goes to prove, ALWAYS wait for a sale if you’re not ready to immediately start a game. Once I finished Witcher 2 I went on the hunt for Witcher 3 GOTY and the best I could find was $30. I have yet to start it. But by every account it’s still a fantastic deal at the price I paid, so it doesn’t really bother me.
I have to throw my 2 cents in for Quantum Break. It’s combination of third person shooting with time bending mechanics coupled with live action episodes is unique. I enjoyed the story and have been yearning to replay it soon.
