Good morning, day or evening to you all and word up to all your homies in their various hoods. It is I, Scrooloose, and today I have very little for an actual WRUP. I've been busy AF working and when I'm not working I'm getting ready for summer fire clearance. Cal Fire will soon be out taking notes during drive by evaluations and I'd very much like it if they don't ignore my home in the event of a wild fire. Here's hoping for no major wild fires this season, much like last, but this is a big hope. It's drying up fast around here and we're already expecting hot, near 100 degree temperatures by next week. Not to be confused by hot tempuratures, which would just be a nice battering and delicious with soy sauce or wasabi.
Gamers Nexus is still following up on the ASUS debacle that's been taking place for some time now. Apparently the FTC has already been eyeing ASUS for some time based on what seem to be some shady anti-consumer practices. I'll put a link up for the newest GN video on the subject here. There's some really good info in this one and includes links to a form to file a potential fraud complaint with the FTC, also a quick form to fill out for GN to get your voice heard if you've been affected by this stuff. I personally have not, but I would recommend giving it a look because it's sort of loosely stated that if this is found to have happened to more than a hundred people the FTC is has enough to really take steps toward investigating ASUS properly.
Do we have a play agenda this week, you animals?
Greywolfe: oh my god! i'm free! marvel's midnight suns is done! it declined from a pretty ok 5/10 game to maybe a 3/10 game. the combat is fine if you're into it, but it INSISTS on so much extraneous fluff, that it feels like it's desperately trying to be a live service game. just single player. it wants you to do all this friendship nonsense every day and it can't just let you do the main storyline missions. in between, you MUST do side missions. and, and, and. you get the idea. it's overstuffed with nonsense. it's too bad, too, because to see firaxis let go a little of xcom was interesting. [edited to add: it doesn't help - one little bit - that the writing in midnight suns is both: overwrought and also awful. it's a bunch of 50 year olds trying to write for the kids and it absolutely doesn't work.] now playing raji: an ancient epic, which is quite neat.
AJ: I recently acquired two limited edition SNES rereleases - - Undercover Cops and Battletoads/Double Dragon, so I will likely be playing those a bit.
Scrooloose: Besides working and cutting weeds and cleaning up around here I'll hopefully find time to maybe finish up Pacific Drive this weekend. We shall see.
