That Sure Is A WRUP Alright

Well guys, I've been very busy this week and will be continuing through next weekend. So I'm sorry but I don't have a lot to share but let's get to what little there is.

Microsoft is still acquiring Activision Blizzard, but there's news on the anti-trust front. The European commission is looking into various concerns "...during a time of increasing consolidation in the gaming industry..." as per WCCFTech. There's more to read here and soon there should be updated information since the potential issues in question have to be decided on by October 10th.

If you're a Windows 11 user and find yourself dealing with some poor performance while gaming, you might want to try turning off a couple of settings that could be hogging memory. VMP and Memory Integrity could be running in the background and eating resources that could be better spent churning out your frames. VMP does some virtual machine performance and likely doesn't have much of an effect, but certainly could. Memory Integrity though, does a pretty constant check on driver signatures and general safety and security and can take up a lot of system bandwidth. Be aware though that disabling Memory Integrity could be a security risk, so it's probably good a good idea not to leave it off for too long if you're often downloading drivers and updates, especially from third party sites. Here's a detailed info sheet from DigitalTrends

Okay guys that's it from me for now. I have a lot to check off today if I want any semblance of chill in the coming days. Have a great weekend.

What are you all playing?

Greywolfe: well, i finally figured out how to raise my stats in ultima 3, so i'm doing that. which really only leaves one last bit of the world i haven't explored: the dungeons. i'm likely going to start tackling those this weekend. i don't think i'm going to finish the game in the next 72 hours, but i think i'm going to get pretty close.

AJ: I just acquired a Limited Run edition of The Secret of Monkey Island for Sega CD, so probably that. Also, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is now on GOG, so I may pick that up as well.

Scrooloose: I'll be dropping in and out of Destiny 2 still as I'm able during all the chaos around here.
