Stuck in 19xx WRUP

You might think that in the year 2016, western AAA publishers would be aware of basic PC gaming standards. Nope. Mafia 3 only supports 30 FPS at this stage and the outrage is huge. Sure, they are working on a patch that unlocks the FPS, but why that wasn’t included at launch is beyond me and with a mixed rating on Steam, the damage is already done.

In other news, but still set in the year 2016, Comcast apparently is now retroactively giving its users download caps. USA, land of the free.

So, what is everyone playing over the weekend?

Thomas: Already played some Endless Space 2 Alpha. Great first step, but so far it’s very light on content. Fine with me. Civ 6 is around the corner. Maybe I’ll try to finish Deus Ex: MD, but after 20 hours, I’m completely losing interest in it.

Cody: Gnna be dipping my toes in Alan Wake for the game club. As well as more Rocksmith and maybe dick around in a few mmos and see which one sticks. I have the itch again lol

Greywolfe: the longest journey, all the time.  also, alan wake.  but mostly just the longest journey.  because, of course it is long.  and a journey.

Tru: Replaying Alan Wake for probably the 10th time (my Game Club Pick), Mafia II, and some more Mark of the Ninja.

Scroo: Alan Wake for Game Club. I might get started on Invisible Inc. As well. It's been a while since I've played a turn based strategy game.

Oooh, hope you all enjoy Alan Wake, it’s one of my favorites.

I’ve just spent all Friday evening in Destiny’s Iron Banner. If hurricane Matthew doesn’t shut down my power, I’ll probably play some more of that, along with the Bioshock remaster and Forza Horizon 3 to round things out.

The Bioshock remaster has been fun, it’s been years since I’ve actually played that game from start to finish. But it’s sure had a lot of issues on the PC with crashing. They released a patch a day or so ago, and I haven’t fired it up with that installed. Hopefully that’ll alleviate some of the issues.

Yeah, I always had issues with Bioshock 2 crashing over and over. It wasn’t my favorite series of games anyway, not enough diversity in its gameplay and level design for my taste. But I did like Infinite quite a bit. Let us know how the remasters look and feel.

Also yes, good luck during the storm. Stay safe

The last patch to Bioshock seems to have helped the crashing issue I was experiencing a great deal. Played for quite a while today with no problems at all. It’s been a long time since I’ve played the two original games, and while they don’t look as crisp as something that was just released, it seems more than passable to my eyes. I’m definitely enjoying my run through of Bioshock 1 again.

Meh. Amazon has failed once again, so any chances of playing Mafia 3 have been effectively dashed until next week. They need to get their release day processes in check. On the upside, I like that Prime members get a 20% off cut on new releases. That’s something that Gamestop should have had all these years, but doesn’t.

All complaining aside, I probably wouldn’t have much time to play anyhow. Busy catching up on Luke Cage.
