Girlfriend is waiting and I almost forgot to do this, so no time to waste!

Battlefront/EA controversy, Destiny controversy, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out, something something Game Awards, To the Moon 2 got announced, Trump is still president of the USA and Austria will soon join his axis of fascists.

Anything I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments. Oh, and also answer the question you’re here for. You know, the one that goes:

What is everyone playing over the weekend?

Thomas: I hope to find some time for Wolfenstein 2 and Ruiner. Both deeply flawed games I really dig for their setting and style. Also that Ruiner Soundtrack…. Sooo good.

Scroo: Pretty much more of the same for me. MudRunner, Battle Chasers, Vermintide as I can fit it in but I might install Silence and see what it's all about as well. Been a busy week so I'm looking forward to a couple of chill days.

Cody: Oh jeez.
I wanna play more Mudrunner, but I also wanna hop back into Elite, but I wanna revisit Battlerite because Fuck Yes a fighting game on PC that seems natively k&m based!, but I also wanna finally play Force Unleashed but I need to fix my ps3, But Destiny 2 with their fantastic level design in the Crucibal calls me back... AND there are now 5 movies I want to see and haven't yet.. And I can only see one a day!!!!
Damn you first world problems!!!!!

Grey: dream daddy is basically finished.  i mopped up most of the achievements last night.  just mopping up the last couple.  i'm also back to mowing through saints row 4.  having done most of the side stuff, i'm now doing the story based missions so i can get the very last of the powers so i can finish off those activities.  after that, i don't expect the rest of the game to take very long.

AJ: Marvel - Ultimate Alliance and Bomberman '93

Tru got himself a Switch, so my guess he’s playing Zelda and or Mario

Last night was my regular gaming ragefest with my online brothers-in-arms over Battlefront 2. We had a good time despite the profilic use of profanity. Saturday night I’m hoping to drag some of them into Battlefield One. I finally returned to that game on Thursday and really had a good time. I’m pretty sure I’ll also be touching on some more Bloodborne before the weekend is out, and I’m getting an urge to try a soul level one run in Dark Souls, just to see how well I can do.

I started it last night and did better than I expected. I made it past the Taurus demon, bought a few things from the blacksmith and defeated the titanite demon below him. And then the game crashed to hard I had to hard reboot my PC. I haven’t yet fired it back up to see if I lost any progress.

Oh awesome. I can imagine going against the Taurus Demon as an S-Level 1 was pretty tough. Hopefully your progress isn’t affected by the crash. I don’t remember ever losing anything to crash in DS1 though actually now that I think about it. Good luck with the rest and keep me posted on how it’s going.

Fortunately I didn’t lose any progress. Tried tackling the gargoyles last night and came close a few times, mainly chucking firebombs at them. Most of my deaths came from the camera and trying to get used to the dodging coming from so much Bloodborne lately. I can still summon Solaire going by the self imposed rules I’m sticking to, but I know I can do this solo.

Well he should help tons with lighting bolts. Are you going to cutting the tail off the Gargoyle for the axe?

I’m not sure I’ll have the stats to wield it. The pyromancer has 12 strength and 9 dex. Right now I’m using a +4 reinforced club in addition to all the fire I can throw. I really need to improve my pyromancy glove.

I’ve decided that any strategy I use is within reason since I’m at a bigger disadvantage than usual. I’ll happily cheese any boss I can. Using a summoned NPC will be something I resort to if I just feel I cannot progress. Summoning a human player in Dark Souls 1 has rarely worked for me before, so if I’ve resorted to that then I’m truly desperate.

Right yeah that’s a good point. Without leveling up you probably can’t even use the axe even if you manage to acquire it. And haha I think cheesing bosses is okay anyway. What ever strategy works is a good one especially at S-lvl 1.

No surprise that summoning players is tough though. I can’t imagine there are actually that many people still playing DS1, let alone within your level range to help fight a boss as you progress further and further in the game.

What a cool challenge. I guess it actually makes avoiding fights viable since it just largely increases your risk factor and you’re not using the souls to level up with.
