Check This WRUP Out

Well, here we are again for another WRUP. Another busy weekend for me. Today will be the second wedding I'll attend in the past two weeks... for the same family. This month has been super busy because along with regular work scheduling I've also been helping them get things ready for party time. The first one took place at a local venue but this one will be at the mother of the bride's house and man it's been a lot of work. But it'll be a fun time. The groom has made a beautiful three tap bar top out of a downed redwood he milled from his dad's house. The kegs are on ice as of yesterday and I'll be pouring for folks in shifts as the evening goes on. The last time there was a wedding in this same location was about five years ago and there were about 75 people that came. Which is plenty of people to have in a back yard, even it's a pretty good sized yard. This time we're looking at a hundred and thirty people. I think it's going to be crowded but there's plenty of space once the reception starts. Anyway I'm rambling and nothing I'm saying has to do with actual WRUP news, so let's get to it.

Diablo 4 is coming soon but Blizzard is facing a *ahem* "MasSIve fINe"(go ahead and use some very sarcastic air quotes with me), for Diablo Immortal over PEGI regulations that state when loot boxes are part of the game that companies must be transparent about those loot boxes. Or in this case even tell people loot boxes were in the game at release. Diablo Immortal is widely known for it's objectively scummy free to play model. Some players have spent thousands, even hundreds of thousands of dollars to get the high tier gems it takes to level character gear and allow for some actual fun game play. So surely Blizzard will feel the sting of a five thousand euro fine? That's right five thousand euros, take that Blizzard. You'll think twice about violating regulation next time, I'm sure. When you have enough money laws don't matter. What a joke. Here's GameRant with some more about that.

Lots of announcements this week of new games coming. I'll leave you with some links to teasers that I found interesting and exciting as I do really have to get myself ready for today.

Sword of The Sea

Phantom Blade Zero

Space Marine II

HellDivers II

Dragon's Dogma II

Also as a parting thought. It's been a long time since I've posted anything to the let's play channel on YouTube. My recording software license disappeared on me and I've had a heck of a time trying to get it worked out. At some point I'll probably just buy a new one, but in case you're one of the three people that actually look at that site, that's why there hasn't been any content.

What is everyone playing?

AJ: Rolling Thunder 2 and more Tears of the Kingdom.

Greywolfe: i'm a lot of the way through my second infernax playthrough. it continues to be a fantastic retro-styled rpg-platformer with really well-tuned difficulty. after that's done, i'm going to return to my giant spreadsheet of games that i'm rolling from so that i can play something random. i have no idea what that'll be at this point, though.

Scrooloose: Boltgun baybee! Also I've been getting into Days Gone as it's turned out to have a way cooler narrative than I thought it would.
