Austria is a fucking nazi country…wrup

That whole violent video game debate, oh boy... but how about something even more disturbing?

We have a political party in our government which (in the best case scenario/this is just the stuff that was recently documented) has professional politicians in its ranks that wish for Adolf Hitler to return, who are part of fraternities that sing old Nazi songs, who've been pictured doing the Hitler Salute (unironically). And now a heavily armed police force under the command of a member of said party raided our Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and apparently seized documents concerning right wing extremism including a full list of informants, possibly even stuff shared by foreign agencies.

If you don't know shit about austria: We are a wealthy western democracy, sandwiched between Germany and Italy. Our biggest cultural exports: Mozart, Hitler and Red Bull (which btw. is owned by Didi Mateschitz, who is also a strong supporter of the far right, keep that in mind next time you'll buy a Red Bull). We've been bombed to hell already. We've still have concentration camps in the country to remind us of what has happened here. One would think we would have learned the lesson.

Never underestimate the threat of fascism.

Anyway, video games.

People started to cry because Nintendo announced Super Smash Bros.
What a fucking surprise. Who could have seen that one coming.

So, what is everyone playing over the weekend?

Thomas: Not in the mood for video games.

Grey: nearing the end of space quest 5. still about half way through book of unwritten tales, but daily quests aplenty. lol. i'm back in eternal, playing faeria and also trying to get all the content in magic: duels [because that's basically a "finished game" since they abandoned it.]

AJ: Fallout 4 and The Golf Club.

Cody: More Hearts of Stone then on to Blood and Wine. I think my bomb build broke Death Match so I'm moving through a lot faster now lol

Scroo: I'm actually not sure about what's going on this weekend. I still want to play the new MudRunner map but I kind of want to try and stream it. Grim Dawn is highly possible but I've also purchased the full version of Vermintide 2 and that has my attention more than anything. I recommend it, the beta was solid and the full game is only $30.

I played a couple matches of PUBG on Friday night, then switched to Sea of Thieves with friends. None of us were in any condition to steer a sailing ship. I woke up Saturday morning with the vague impression I had spent some money just before bed. Then as I get up I recall seeing Dark Souls 2 was on sale on the PS4 and buying that before crashing.

The only thing I’ve played Saturday and Sunday so far is more Bloodborne. Depsite just sinking 150+ hours into a run for the Platinum tropy that concluded in January, I started a new character for the Return to Yharnam event that started this weekend and have been having a blast. I ran throught the DLC to grab the whirlygig saw and have been mowing down bosses both in my game and those who summon me. I sent out a tweet with the #returntoyharnam tag and saw that Kotaku had written an article about the event and included a few tweets, mine among them.

It’s been a pretty cool weekend.

Man I’m really gonna have to get into Bloodborne. I’ve been holding off because my backlog is rather long and I know Bloodborne will consume me. Cool that your tweet got mentioned. The only time I’ve ever seen anything like that was way back in the day when I was playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in the late 90’s and I had a Screenshot featured on their main website.
