Man, these past few weekends have been crazy. I'm almost to a point now that I shouldn't even bother with a WRUP for this week. But here I am, doing my civic duty. Happy Father's day.
I know I should have been paying attention to all the new game announcements and news over the past week but my goodness I've had a full plate so I haven't really been keeping up. It looks like the highly anticipated Elden Ring is supposed to be a Dark Souls sequel. That's good because based on the game play teaser we all got to see that's what it looks like. In a similar vein, there's a rumor going around that there's a Bloodborne successor called Velvet Veil coming to PS5 as an exclusive title. The rumor is pretty thin though and I don't really think it'll hold up to scrutiny.
Metroid Dread looks like it could be pretty fun as a 2d platformer again. Though the teaser trailer only shows Samus running from a kind of A.I. Robotic enemy, so it's a little hard to tell if it's going to be based on Metroid's previous biological nightmare monsters or if a whole new ecosystem will be at play.
A cinematic for Bethesda's Starfield is also something that's been getting a little buzz. I'd love to believe that it'll be a great space exploration title to rival the likes of something like Elite Dangerous but with Bethesda's recent track record with Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 it's a little hard to be super excited about Starfield. I do hope it turns out to be something great and hey, we can probably expect it to release before Star Citizen.
Guys, I'm really sorry to be more or less phoning these in lately. I've been a busy guy but things may be calming down for a bit so I think next week will be a more normal and info filled WRUP. What are we playing?
Tru: More Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Mostly anything on my Ps5, because I know it bothers AJ and I find that very fun.
AJ: Sonic Mania and Sega Genesis Classics (collection). I might also finally check out Grip since it's on GOG now.
Greywolfe: biomutant! i've got all of the hazard suits, now and am going to go and look into all of those zones to collect the free stuff lying around in them and that's going to be the weekend. but also, of course, magic. :)
Scroo: I've been mostly unable to play games this week. I've had a lot going on, but I think I'll probably jump in to some Far Cry 5 for some mindless fun.
