Right now on the ol' Steam you can pick up the starter edition of Ubisoft's For Honor, 100% free. Best thing about this is that you're actually getting a product for free. This isn't going to suddenly make you pay for a full version down the line. You don't even have to install it if you don't want to. Just click the "install" button and Steam will register For Honor to your account so you can enjoy it whenever you like.

There's no real catch here surprisingly. You are only getting the lowest tier version with just three of the game's 18 heroes from the three playable factions. All others can be unlocked via in game currency or by spending money in the game store.

And speaking of those tiers (god I hate tiered game purchases), they're all on sale as well for a pretty massive 75% off. That means the standard edition is only $14.99. So if you're thinking of jumping on this one at some point, maybe now's the time to do it. Just make sure to remember that For Honor isn't technically released yet and it isn't slated to be until October 16th. So you're hopping into an open beta basically. But hey, free is free. The sale itself ends on August 27th so you've got a few days yet.
