Ultra Street Fighter 4 Launches on PS4

With glitches annoying the hard core crowd, and input lag ruining everyone's fun, it seems like the PS4 launch of Street Fighter 4 is off to a rough start. More after the break!
A while ago, Capcom was quoted, saying "A few of you hardcore Street Fighters out there said that there was minor input lag in the controls of Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS3. Well, don’t worry: we’ve eliminated it to make the PS4 edition the ultimate version on any platform, so it’ll be good to go for all your tournament needs!"Unfortunately, this claim hasn't come to fruition.  There have been other glitches found on the PS4 version, ruining online play for certain tournament level players. There are also sound, visual, PSN, and other bugs that need to be worked out.

Capcom has yet to issue a statement, hopefully these issues will be addressed soon!

Telltale Telling Tales on Gog Galaxy

Hello adventure game fans, I've got some great news! Several Telltale series are coming to Gog.com very soon, and they're going to have Galaxy support. What does all that mean? Which games? Continue past the break to find out.
The Game of Thrones series is already launched on Gog.com, with The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands, and The Walking Dead to follow shortly afterward. As in the above image, they're coming with Gog Galaxy support, which means Achievements, tracking of game time (As a reviewer I love this), and optional auto-updates (as a player this makes me very happy). All in all this is a very exciting announcement for adventure game fans, especially those that may be on the fence about buying into the Steam ecosystem. So what do you think of this news? Interesting? Have you already bought and played these games on Steam? Thoughts on Gog Galaxy? Just let us know what's on your mind in the comments section below.

Blade & Soul – Free to Play MMORPG Coming West This Winter

Picture

Korean developers at Team Bloodlust of NCSoft originally released Blade & Soul in 2012. With three years of content updates, tweaks, and gameplay balancing, it's being translated to English, French, and German for release on Windows PCs in NA and EU.

The "fatigue / vigor" system will not be carried over from the Chinese version, something that was likely put in place due to government restriction of online play. Blade & Soul will also be completely uncensored, and will release sometime this winter.

  • Choose from one of four races, customize your character, and explore the open world.

  • PvP is not initially available, but opens up as you get more experienced.

  • The martial-arts style combat is combo-based, and flows in real-time.
At launch, the first three acts will be made available, with the rest of the six total existing chapters coming later. More could possibly be produced after that. Here is the livestream announcement footage:

New Steam Store Releases: The Witcher 3

Again we see that the stand-out release on a digital store this week is none other than the The Witcher 3. And it seems to be with good reason, if our own First Look at the game is any indication. Also out this week is an update of a controversial classic, a Minecraft clone with guns, and an old-school cyberpunk adventure game. Track your quarry past the break to see more of this week's new releases.

New Nintendo eShop Releases: Mega May (Week 3)

Mega May continues this week with the release of Mega Man Zero 2 for the Wii U Game Boy Advance Virtual Console. If you've never played any of the Zero series games before, I'd highly recommend giving one of them a try. They are all excellent. Also out this week is the Mario edition of Puzzle & Dragons for the 3DS, and the Super Nintendo port of an old arcade shmup called Earth Defense Force (no relation to the current series). Get ready, equip your Z-Saber, and then jump past the break to see the complete list of new releases.

New PlayStation Store Releases: The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 has arrived! And it looks pretty sweet! Now if only I had an extra $60 and enough time to finish The Witchers 1 & 2. Oh, well. Hopefully, some of you are enjoying it. As for me? One day... Also out this week, a farming simulator, a pair of shmups, and...HOLY $#!+, the Vita has a new game!?! Sorry. It's just such a rare occurrence that it's a bit shocking when it actually happens. Anyway, go oil up your blades, accept a hunting contract, and then jump past the break to see the complete list of new releases.

New Steam Store Releases: Axiom, Inc

Confession time. I used to not care much for Steam. Although I would consider myself to primarily be a console gamer, GOG has consistently been my go-to site when it comes to downloadable PC titles. And why not? There's no DRM, they offer exclusive goodies and extras like free soundtracks, artwork, and guides, also there's no DRM (that's kind of an important one). That's not to say I never used Steam. It's hard to say no to a game on any service when you can find it on sale for just 99¢ or a couple of bucks. Even more so when they happen to be really good games. Well, it just so happened that I had taken advantage of one such sale recently over at the Humble Store. I had acquired an inordinate amount of ridiculously priced (in a good way) Steam games, and as I was engaged in the lengthy process of installing all of them, I began to take notice of everything that Steam had to offer, and suddenly the service started to click for me.

I realized that I really appreciate having the ability to organize a large portion of my games all together in one place, as well as being able to categorize them as I see fit. Furthermore, I appreciate the fact that many of the games available on Steam, both offer, and clearly display important features like achievements (something that I fell in love with on the Xbox 360), and controller support (for my 360 controller). With Steam, I've found that not only can I catch up on oftentimes better looking versions of the same excellent games I never finished on the 360, but also great games that appeared on other platforms such as PSP, and PS3 (and PC of course), all brought to one easily accessible location.

I still appreciate everything that GOG brings to the table, and I will definitely continue to purchase games there as well, but I think it's safe to say that for the reasons I've listed above (as well as others), Steam has finally made a convert out of me. Since I now have a new-found appreciation for their service, I've decided I should start keeping track of the weekly Steam releases, as I currently do for the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop. So, without further ado, I present the new Steam Store releases from this past week (after the break). (FYI, the highlights are the quite excellent, and previously-PlayStation 4-only, Axiom Verge, the stealth/strategy mash-up, Invisible, Inc, and the Final Fantasy IV follow-up, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.)

  • Axiom Verge (Thomas Happ Games, Single-player, $19.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Invisible, Inc (Klei Entertainment, Single-player, $19.99) (Steam Achievements)
  • Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Square Enix, Single-player, $15.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Virtual Pool 4 (Celeris, Single & Multi-player, $24.99) (Steam Achievements)
  • Action Henk (RageSquid, Single & Multi-player, $14.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Windward (Tasharen Entertainment, Single & Multi-player, $14.99) (Controller Support, Steam Achievements)
  • Interplanetary (Team Jolly Roger, Single & Multi-player, $14.99) (Steam Achievements)
  • NOT A HERO (Devolver Digital, Single-player, $12.99) (Controller Support)
  • Galactic Civilizations II (Stardock Entertainment, Single & Multi-player, $49.99) (Steam Achievements)

New PlayStation Store Releases: Project CARS

Project CARS hits the US this week and if you're an American like me, then you no doubt can't wait to catch up with all of those lucky Europeans who inexplicably got the game a week early. I'll bet they've been having lots of fun over there, racing around on all of those legendary European racetracks with all of those powerful and stylish European sports cars...actually, I guess it does makes some sense why they got the game first. Also out this week, a couple of high profile rereleases, a new PixelJunk title, a cross buy twin-stick Robotron clone, an old arcade favorite, and more. It's actually a bit of a crowded course this week, so go strap yourselves in, fire up your engines, and then race past the break to see the complete list of new releases.
