Far Cry: Primal is not Blood Dragon 2

You’ve probably already heard news about FC: Primal yesterday, but just in case you haven’t: The Guys behind Uplay announced Primal, a new spin-off from the main series, set in the Stone-Age, around 10.000 BC. This means no Dinos, but a good amount of woolly mammoths and saber-toothed cats. But that’s not where the differences to Blood Dragon end. Read more

New PlayStation Store Releases: Transformers: Devastation!

I've felt a great disturbance in the PlayStation Store; as if millions of wallets cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. There's a LOT of great stuff to choose from this week! Transformers: Devastation, Disgaea 5, Rock Band 4, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax all look to be must-have titles. If you had to narrow it down to just one, though? Transformers. All the way.

Transformers: Devastation is Transformers done right. Done the way it was always meant to be (and by PlatinumGames, no less). I mean, for God's sake, just look at that image above and tell me you aren't immediately going to drop everything to go get it!

That's what I thought. Autobots...Roll out! (And proceed further to see more of this week's new releases.)

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: Third Time’s the Charm

Me again! This time it's lucky number 3 for helping out with the W3. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now!

On Friday's WRUP, I shared my obsession with Halloween-related activities. Now I will give you the opportunity to share yours. Are there any particular things you like to do this time of year? Any specific games you like to play? If not, is there another holiday or season where you like to focus on a certain type of game?

Go vote for your favorite comic from this past week and then let us know in the comments.

Another excellent Arcade port has come to the Steam Store this week, courtesy of Arc System Works. Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! is a very Japanesey, all-female fighting game with beautiful anime style graphics. If you're a fan of similar fighter series such as BlazBlue or Guilty Gear, you won't be disappointed with this one.

The WRUP For Red October

So, it seems that the good doctor will be without internet for a few days and, evidently, the honorable task of posting the weekly WRUP has now fallen to me. I shall try not to disappoint.

But what to talk about here? How about the fact that we're into October already? How crazy is that?! I feel like July just ended, but that was two months ago already!

At least I can start counting down to my favorite holiday now. For me, October is a month-long celebration of all things spooky and/or Halloween-related. And I don't just mean costumes, candy, and pumpkins (though those are all certainly helpful).

No, I'm talking about movies, music, video games, breakfast cereals...also this. There's actually a surprising number of ways that one can get into the season, if one is so inclined. But enough talk!

What's everybody playing?

New Nintendo eShop Releases: River City Ransom

Fear not! The New Nintendo eShop Releases post is finally back from hiatus. I was regrettably unavailable that big day when Super Mario Maker dropped, but I had intended to jump right back in the week after. Unfortunately, what followed were two straight weeks of garbage releases. Yes, I'm talking to you, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer! Come back when you've "designed" a complete game!

Finally, this week I have something good to cover. Namely, River City Ransom. The legendary early '90s high school beat 'em up has come home to the Wii U NES Virtual Console. Also out this week, Pumped BMX, Toto Temple Deluxe, and the incredibly overrated Freedom Planet. "BARF!" Proceed further to see more of this week's new releases.

Just in time for the start of the NBA preseason, the PlayStation Store now has two new b-ball games on offer, NBA 2K16 and NBA Live 16. In case you're not sure which one you should get, just go with 2K. That series has always been better.

Also out this week, Mega Man Legends, the granddaddy of all one-on-one fighting games, and...holy $#*%! Tony Hawk is back! Draw a foul, take your free throws, then proceed further to see more of this week's new releases.
